Uganda Bugisu Single Origin Coffee Beans
Uganda Bugisu Single Origin Coffee Beans
Silipo Coffee only uses the best possible beans for our single origin coffees. We pride ourselves on working with farms around the world which supply outstanding beans whilst maintaining ethical and sustainable farming methods.
Arabica was originally introduced to Uganda by European and Asian settlers early in the 20th century, however, it struggled to take hold because disease ravaged these early crops. By the beginning of the 1980s, Arabica plants were being reintroduced on a larger scale due to the introduction of modern agricultural techniques which were better able to protect the plants from disease and the harsh environment.
Although Arabica still accounts for only a small portion of total coffee production there is a growing focus in Uganda on specialty coffee.
