The Silipo Story
Established in 2006 Silipo Coffee is a Gold Coast based coffee roastery with a focus on specialty coffee. We supply and distribute to cafés, espresso bars, restaurants and home customers throughout Australia.
Noticing there was a demand in the industry for a specialty coffee roaster and supplier who not only provided wholesale coffee but also met the needs of customers, Richard set out to fill this void.
Richard Silipo, the founder of Silipo Coffee, has been involved in the coffee industry since 1994. Noticing there was a demand in the industry for a specialty coffee roaster and supplier who not only provided wholesale coffee but also met the needs of customers, Richard set out to fill this void. He started his own wholesale roasting and coffee distribution business sourcing his coffee from specialty coffee roasters on the Gold Coast. He soon realised to get every aspect of the business perfect, he would have to set up his own coffee roasting house.
Richard secured premises on the Gold Coast and purchased a 15kg coffee roaster which would be able to roast his specialty coffee to its fullest potential. He then went to work building relationships with some of the very best ethical and sustainable coffee farms around the world making sure their green beans were of the highest quality and the farms were a part of the Fairtrade system. Once the green coffee beans were sourced, Richard started roasting his distinctive and highly additive single origins coffees and coffee blends.
After only a few years the demand for Silipo Coffee was so high Richard had to move to larger premises and subsequently change his beloved 15kg Garanti roaster for a 30kg Giesen roaster. Now Silipo Coffee roast and supply our award-winning coffee to cafés and coffee shops all over Australia.
Silipo Coffee listen to our customers wants and needs and strive to ensure these are met! We view our customers like an extension of our family and we can never do too much for them. Always seeking feedback from our customers, we endeavour to adapt and innovate to provide our customers with a product and service like no other. Silipo Coffee aim to be the biggest specialty coffee supplier in Australia, and given our dominance of the Gold Coast market, this aim is well within our sights.
Specialty Coffee Beans
Silipo Coffee’s coffee blends have won numerous awards over the years and once you try them, you’ll understand why. Our coffee beans are always sourced from ethical and sustainable farms from all over the world in line with our company principles and values.
Our four specialty coffee blends have been carefully crafted so that there is a blend to suit everyone, from those who like a strong black espresso to those who prefer a milky latte.
All our blends use only the highest-grade Arabica coffee beans and these are roasted in our state of the art 30kg Giesen W30A Coffee Roaster.
Single Origins
Silipo Coffee are always searching for the pinnacle of coffees for you to try. We spend days, months and years hunting for the different, the intriguing, or the odd one in the bunch which will satisfy the most discerning coffee drinker. We also look for farms that we want to work with who are ethical, sustainable and organic, as well as embracing the same values we hold as a company.
Our single origins are all roasted with their own roast curve to achieve the perfect sweet spot which all great coffee should possess. You’ll find a broad selection in our online shop and in-store at our café and roastery. If you are visiting one of our wholesale family’s businesses, you might just find a single origin on offer in their designated grinder.

Silipo Coffee likes to receive feedback from industry professionals which is why we compete in several coffee roasting competitions each year. Since our competition debut in 2011 we have consistently won awards year after year in the Golden Bean Awards and The Australian International Coffee Awards, one year even taking out second place in the Golden Bean Awards. In total we have accumulated over 50 coffee roasting awards.
